Day by Day
Duration: 10 days/9 Nights
Day 1
La Paz Arrival to La Paz, reception and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon City tour visiting the most interesting places in La Paz, typical places like the Witches Market, artisanal markets, the colonial calle Jaén with its impressive, residential areas of the south and the well known Moon Valley, where erosion has given place to the most exotic and curious surface forms. Overnight.
Day 2
La Paz After breakfast, 6 hours excursion to the archaelogical place of Tiwanaku, millenarian pre-inca ruins (1.500 b.c.), located in the middle of the Altiplano, where we will appreciate the admirable lithic esculptures, monuments, Suns’ Door, temples, the local museum and also the church in the town, which was built in 1612, most of it with stones and material from the ruins.. Includes typical lunch and entry fees. Overnight in La Paz. B,L
Day 3
La Paz – Uyuni. Breakfast. Bus boarding for a 3 hours drive and arrival at Oruro, where we board the train towards Uyuni, arriving there after a 7 hours trip. Reception in the train station and transfer to the hotel. Overnight. B
Day 4
Uyuni Breakfast and visit the Inca Huasi Island, also called Fish Island by its peculiar form. It has lots of caves and gigantic cactus about 8 to 10 meters spread over a lime like surface. After a snack return to Uyuni sighting salt the water ponds; We stop at Colchani where we will observe manual salt production and processing to iodine salt. Thereafter return drive to Uyuni. Overnight. B, L
Day 5
Uyuni – Potosí. Breakfast. We board the Bus heading to Potosí where we arrive after a 6 hours drive. Recepción and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Potosí. B
Day 6
Potosi – Sucre Breakfast. Mine Excursión: We visit the mining neighborhoods; and then go up to the foot of the Cerro Rico Mountain where during the XVII century, millions of tons of silver were mined and conveyed to Spain. We shall go underground and observe how the mining cooperatives work. We shall feel their exciting myths, hard work, and hopes. In the afternoon we shall do a City Tour including the famous MINT HOUSE, where gold and silver coins were embossed during colonial times. Trip by bus to Sucre where we arrive after a 3 hours drive. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Overnight. B
Day 7
Sucre: Breakfast. City Tour-Jatun Yampara. Visit to the community Jatún Yampara, their home, and handcraft area, native textile workshops, ancestral ceramics, native garments museum, medicinal herbs room. Chat with thenatives and “challa” (native ritual honouring the goddess earth). Lunch. In
the afternoon we visit the textil museum Asur, the Recoleta city viewer, and the main historical monuments like the San Felipe Nery. Overnight. B, L
Optional: City tour – Dinosaurs tracks. We drive to the Cal Orko area, (15 minutes drive) to observe the dinosaurs tracks which are among the most important in the world. Lunch. In the afternoon we visit the textil museum Asur, the Recoleta city viewer, and the main historical monuments like the San Felipe Nery. B
Day 8
Sucre – La Paz. Breakfast and transfer to the airport. Flight to La Paz. . Reception and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in La Paz. B
Day 9
Break
fast. Titikaka Lake – Copacabana – Sun Island. Full day excursion with lunch. Arriving to Copacabana visit to the town, the beatiful church where is the Dark Madonna . Following we board our comfortable boat and head towards the Sun Island (1 hour ride). The Sun Island is worshipped as the birthplace of Manco Kápac and Mama Ocllo the first founders of the Inca’s Empire. Some ruins like the Pilkokaina Palace, the Inca’s Fontaine, the 200 stairs of Yumani are part of this beatiful Island, worth to see it. Return to Copacabana for lunch and back to La Paz or connection to Puno by bus. Overnight. B, L
Day 10
Transfer to the airport. In case you are in Puno transfer to the bus terminal.
